The Austrian Ambassador congratulated Iran for being the first travel destination on PCI (Price Competitiveness Index) that is provided by the World Economic Forum. According to the report, Iran is the most economical destination for tourism among countries.
The Iranian currency lost its value within the last year considerably and this is the reason that this country got the first ranking on PCI. The price of fuel in Iran is cheap, the airport tax is very low therefore, tourists got high purchasing power. These are the reasons that Iran got the best ranking on PCI. The Austrian Ambassador to Tehran, Stefan Schulz, at Iran-Austria symposium congratulated this country on the ranking and announced his cooperation for enhancing private sector economy at Iran.
He reiterated on holding Iran-Austria symposiums despite stressful international situations. The respected Ambassador of Austria mentioned to the role of Iran in enhancing the global culture, art and poetry and the necessity of maintaining a sustainable ecotourism in this country.
This year (2019) the Iran-Austria symposium was held on 29th of September.
