He skied seven days to reach himself to the South Pole and climbed Mt. Vinson on the second day of January 2020.
The expedition was really challenging physically and mentally.
If you are going to ski from 89 degrees to 90 degrees of the South Pole, you have to ski intervals up to ten hours a day in temperature fourthy degrees below zero.
The mere reaching the South Pole is a great achievement how about climbing Mt. Vinson.
For Fahad, Mt. Vinson was his fourth of the Seven Summits.
The people who have climbed Mt. Vinson are about 1200 climbers till now less than the people who have climbed Everest.
Mt. Vinson is one of the coldest mountains on earth.
Fahad on his ascend was guided by one person and had two other team members.
To climb the Mt. Vinson you need to use spiked crampons on your boots to dig into the ice.
In 2019, Fahad successfully climbed Everest and Lhotse in one expedition.
In 2019 he also climbed Mont Blanc and Matterhorn.
Besides him there is another Qatari guy who has climbed Mt. Everest.
Mt. Vinson is 4892 meters high and it was climbed for the first time by an American team led by Nicholas Clinch in 1966.
Mt. Vinson is the last climbed, last discovered and last named of the Seven Summits.
It was discovered in 1957
Mt. Vinson is the coldest of the Seven Summits.
Mt. Vinson is named for an American Congressman who suggested the government to of US to explore Antarctica.
Technically it is not difficult to climb but it’s extremely cold.
