How to climb mount Taftan

Location: Khash

Height: 4030 meters above the sea level

Transfer: Car, Train, Airplane

First you should go to Zahedan. Then take middle bus from Zahedan to Khash. Then drive to Dar e Kouh village.

At Dar e Kouh village there is a shelter. After few minutes of ascending, you will reach to a small river. Don’t drink the water because it’s full of sulfur!

Then after 3 hours you will reach the Sobh Shelter at the height of 3250 meters.

From the Sobh shelter you have 3 hours to the summit. The summit is windy and there are sulfur fumes.

You should pay 1 American dollar for the shelter entrance fee.

You can buy drinking water at the shelter but it’s better to take water from Zahedan with yourself.

You need a local guide to climb Taftan.
