Liza Avelino , a 48 years old lady from Philippines climbed Damavand in 2015. Damavand is 5671 meters high and the highest volcano in Asia.
She also climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and now she had climbed two of the recognized Volcano Seven Summits in the world.
She is a self-taught mountain climber who climbed Himalayas with borrowed gear.
She is a house maid at Hong Kong and has little time for training. On weekends she hikes on some Hong Kong trails and three times a week takes the stairs of a 27-story building up and down while carrying a 15 Kg bag on her bag.
In 2006, she became interested in mountain climbing after finding a book about military operations at the mountains.
Then she joined a hiking group include of expatriates and some professionals.
At this period of her life, she discovered her fantastic abilities in taking the long trials.
The first mountain she climbed and the first time she saw snow was in Mount Yari in Japan.
Then she climbed mountains in China, South Korea, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Philippines.
Climbing Damavand was a great surprise for her and increased her self confidence.
On Damavand she found out that a good mountain climber is who knows rock climbing also. She says the last challenge in Damavand is the sulfur hill.
