Mt. Damavand
It is the highest mountain in Iran and the highest volcano of Asia. Mt Damavand is located at the central Alborz rang and south of the Caspian Sea. The best time to climb this mountain is June to September.
The first persons who climbed Damavand successfully were Europeans in 18th century.
Mt Tochal
Mt Tochal is located near Tehran and, on weekends you can see many people climbing this mountain.
The classic route to climb this mountain is Darband.
Mt Tochal is 3962 meters high. When you reach at top of the mountain you can use Tele-cabin for going down. At top of Mt. Tochal there is a ski resort which is the fourth highest ski resort in the world.
Climbing Mt. Tochal in winter is tricky and dangerous.
Best time to climb Mt. Tochal is spring and summer.
Mt. Sabalan
Mt. Sabaan is located near Ardabil city. In local language Sabalan is known as “Savalan”.
Mt. Sabalan is the third highest mountain in Iran and it’s a passive volcano. Mt. Sabalan is 4811 meters high. According to some superstitions a prophet is buried in this mountain and it’s a holy mountain.
The best route to climb Mt. Sabalan is from Shah Bill hot spring.
Mt. Sahand
Mt. Sahand is located near Maraghe city. The mountain is covered by reverse tulips in springs.
Mt. Sahand is 3695 meters high. The best time to climb this mountain is May and June.
You can find nomads on Mt. Sabalan and farming is common in this area.
Alam Kouh
Alam Kouh is located at Mazandaran province.
Alam Kouh is the second highest mountain in Iran and is known as Iran’s Alp. At Alm Kouh rage you can find 47 peaks above 4000 meters high.
At Northern part of Alam Kouh, there is a 650 meters high wall that is one of the most difficult high walls
In the world. The wall is made of granite.
