How to Climb Mount Sahand
Sahand is a mountain at Zagros range with the height of 3565 meters above sea level.
The best time to climb Sahand is on March and April. The mountain is covered by flowers. At summer time Sahand is not so hot so, you are able to climb it till the end of September.
First you should go to Maragheh. From Tehran to Maragheh there are taxis, busses and trains. The price of train ticket is less than 10 American dollars per person.
From Tehran to Maragheh by train is 12 hours.
From Maragheh you should book a minibus to take you to the shelter. From Maragheh to the shelter is more than two hours.
If you want to use the shelter first you should arrange it. You can also erect tents near the shelter.
Near shelter there is a spring.
At 5 am you should start climbing the mount. After 4 hours you will arrive to the top.
The climb is not technical but very fun.
