March is the Persian New Year.
Chahar Shanbe Souri is a top Iranian event in this month.
On the last Tuesday of the Persian year, Iranians dance by the fire and sing to keep away the blackness and darkness of winter and welcome the spring.
Actually, it’s a pagan tradition.
Chahar Shanbe Souri is ancient Persian ceremony. Actually its roots are in pre-Islamic era.
The other top event on March is Nowruz.
It’s a spring equinox celebration on 21 March. Its a huge family celebration.
If you are about to visit Iran at Nowruz please be informed that at this time travelling is a little tricky and the hotels are packed.
You should book the hotel at least one month earlier and buy the tickets (Bus, Train, and Airplane) in advance.
On March it’s better to visit Southern parts of Iran such as Shiraz, Hormuz and islands at the Persian Gulf such as Kish and Qeshm.
