Disadvantages of carrying heavy backpack
Carrying heavy backpack for several consecutive days is a big mistake. Few days ago I was climbing Mt. Tochal, On the way up, I saw a teenager who was carrying a heavy backpack full of stones. After a fluff talk, I found out that his trainer had suggested him to carry a heavy backpack to become stronger. Unbelievable. Maybe you have had similar experiences like that. When there is pain in the body, there is something wrong.
Here are some of the disadvantages of carrying heavy backpack.
The results of studying the soldiers who carried heavy backpacks regularly showed that, they had severe back pain. Also, they felt sense of numbness, burning or itching on their fingertips.
In this study, the scientists found out that heavy carriages cause extra pressure on back and knees and may lead to deformation of body parts. This excessive pressure also may affects internal organs of the body negatively.
According to the findings, excess pressure damages muscle tissue and nerves. Carrying heavy backpacks may reduce the transmission of nerve impulse that causes numbness and a sense of burning in hands.
Carrying a heavy backpack with shoulder straps, puts your neck in an uncomfortable position. In this situation you may lose your balance, get headache or feel pain in your neck. To reduce this negative effect, you should keep your head back while walking.
Dysfunction in blood supply
carrying hefty backpacks may cause disorders in blood supply to your hands. Disorder in hand blood supply leads to numbness, pain and fatigue.
If you carry a backpack equal to your total body weight, there will be pressure on your lumbar disc.
Overall, carrying heavy backpack in long time may damage spine and causes lumbar vertebrae deformation.
