Kolakchal is a peak located North of Tehran and in the southern parts of the Alborz range.
Mt. Kolakchl is among the most popular mountain climbing routes in Tehran.
On weekends there are many people who are enjoying climbing this mountain.
For climbing kolakchal, first you should reach yourself to Jamshidiyyeh Park.
The Jamshidiyyeh Park is located at Bahonar Street. You can ask the taxi driver to take you there.
If you own a car, on weekends its difficult to find parking space. Its recommended to reach yourself to Jamshidiyyeh Park by Tap30 (Persian Uber) or taxi.
From Jamshidiyyeh Park to the peak there is twelve kilo-meres.
After few minutes of your ascend there is a beautiful spring. most of the times people are standing by the spring and are posing pictures.
On the route there are many restaurants and a shelter that you can take water from there.
After 30 minutes walk, you will reach to a nice wooden restaurant and take a small rest and change your clothes (If required).
During whole of your ascend you can access to the net and strong cellphone signals.
After two hours walk, you will reach the shelter.
Inside the shelter warm food included of fried eggs, hot beans, hot drinks and potato chips is served.
You should also pay entrance fee but the price is low.
At summer time, you can also spend the night at Kolakchal shelter.
on weekends, few minutes above the shelter there is a Red Cross post.
The professional mountain climbers and medical doctors will provide services for free if required.
At the foot of the mountain there is a small hospital.
Mt. Kolakchal is 3350 meters high.
Best time for climbing the mountain is on spring.
There are no dangerous animals on the route; just rabbits, foxes, tamed dogs and sheep.
