Polish couple travelled around the world in 1990’s fiat car.
Asia and Pawel Poterski are from western Poland.
The couple planned their trip around the world in an old fiat that its production line is rolled off in 1990.
Asia and Pawel Poterski journey took two years and the poor car covered 45.000 kilometers.
They came back safe to their home in Gorzow Wielkoposki this summer.
Asia and Pawel Poterski estimated their journey will last at most nine months but it become longer considering the fact that they drove in countries such as Iran, Pakistan, Thailand, and Malaysia.
They made the old ca to run in the highway of the United States and Canada by shipping the car across the pacific.
The story of their journey in that old car got global attention and media such as the New Striate Times in Malaysia and CTV news in Canada.
The New Strait Times is the major newspaper that is published in Malaysia in English.
Fiat is not a reliable car and their cars a high chance of breaking down on the journey but Asia and Pawel Poterski.
They had prepared themselves to fix most of the probable problems.
Still they had more roads to take but Asia became pregnant on the way so, they decided to go back Poland to deliver the baby.
By doing so, they became local celebrities in their city known a Gorzow and the Gorzow council warmly welcomed the couple in appreciation of making their city well known.
Gorzow city is the second big city of west of Poland. Many important sportsmen came from Gorzow city included of Olympic champions and national representatives.
At the Second World War, Gorzow was seriously damaged but still got some tourist attractions such as the Gothic cathedral of the Virgin Mary. Also you can see some buildings from the communist government era especially near the entrance of the city.
There were some renovations in this city due to the visit of Pope John
Paul II in 1997. Gorzow also is known as the city of parks and green spaces. Gorzow also got a park of roses that got impressive view.
