Mountain guide Sabrina asked climbers to bring down their own trash from Damavand. That’s the responsibility of the climbers.
Some climbers simply don’t care about the environment of Damavand. Few days ago, sabrina found piles of climbers’ trash on Mount Damavand. After being collected, the plastic waste reached 15 large bags.
Sabrina asked the climbers to be more responsible and take their trash home. Because, there are no garbage cleaners on the mountain.
Amoo Darab admitted that he could not identify the climbers who left piles of garbage in Damavand. The reason is, since it was reopened, lots of climbers intend to climb this huge mountain of earth.
“Sometimes, climbers think that if they enter Damavand, paying for permit, then everything is allowed to do including dropping garbage everywhere on the trail. In fact, the retribution is not a garbage collection service.
If the officers continue to take care of the garbage, it means we forget about other tasks.
A number of photos of officers cleaning the garbage of Mount Damavand climbers have gone viral on social media.
Sabrina criticized climbers who left trash on the mountain.
“We deliberately share it on social media so that everyone knows that throwing garbage on the mountain is a bad act,” said Sabrina.
The next photo shows the staff cleaning the trash, and transferring it to the bag.
“For those of you, who have a hobby of climbing mountains, learn to be responsible, love the environment and respect the rights of others. Bring your trash back home, don’t leave trash on the mountain!”
